Hello lovelies!
Iām so sorry Iāve been MIA this month š Grad school this past month has been super crazy with assignments and then I started a new part-time job at a local childrenās bookshop which Iām super excited to be a part of. Iām learning so much about different childrenās materials, what children and adults alike enjoy and of course whatās coming out in the next few months! Itās really such a joy to work there and I know that I cannot wait to be a librarian in the future š
With that said, I have a ton of posts planned out to get back into blogging! I promise to work harder on keeping updated around my new busy schedule. This summer shouldnāt be as bad and Iām hoping to have a lot more time to dedicate to the blog. Iāve been staying up to date pretty much on my Instagram account which you can check out here. Also, Iāve started a YouTube account to supplement the blog and share a few other things which you can check out here.
Okay, As per Wednesday, read on to see what I canāt wait to get my hands on!
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly eventĀ hosted by Breaking the Spine, where you can highlight upcoming releases that you are eagerly anticipating!
What Iām waiting on:
Girl in the Blue Coat by Monica Hesse

SynopsisĀ (via GoodReads):Ā An unforgettable story of bravery, grief, and love in impossible times
The missing girl is Jewish. I need you to find her before the Nazis do.
Amsterdam, 1943. Hanneke spends her days procuring and delivering sought-after black market goods to paying customers, her nights hiding the true nature of her work from her concerned parents, and every waking moment mourning her boyfriend, who was killed on the Dutch front lines when the Germans invaded. She likes to think of her illegal work as a small act of rebellion.
On a routine delivery, a client asks Hanneke for help. Expecting to hear that Mrs. Janssen wants meat or kerosene, Hanneke is shocked by the older womanās frantic plea to find a personāa Jewish teenager Mrs. Janssen had been hiding, who has vanished without a trace from a secret room. Hanneke initially wants nothing to do with such dangerous work, but is ultimately drawn into a web of mysteries and stunning revelations that lead her into the heart of the resistance, open her eyes to the horrors of the Nazi war machine, and compel her to take desperate action.
Meticulously researched, intricately plotted, and beautifully written, Girl in the Blue Coat is an extraordinary, gripping novel from a bright new voice in historical fiction.

- When I began reading a whole lot when I was younger my genre of choice was historical fiction. Now a days I donāt really reach towards the genre unless thereās some paranormal or romance element with it. So I want to read outside my comfort zone and pick this one up!
- The blurb sounds sooo interesting! I think it will be great to read from a new perspective and about a time period I havenāt read much about outside of the book Ā Number the Stars.Ā
- Additionally, it seems like this book has some suspense and mystery thrown in and Iām all about that right now haha.
What are you waiting on this week? Do you have Girl in the Blue CoatĀ added to your TBR? Let me know in the comments below! Iād love to hear from you!
Happy Reading!
