Last week I got the chance to hang out with some cool authors and readers for a night at the ballpark. I was looking forward to this event since I saw a post about it on Instagram. I’ve recently gotten into baseball all thanks to my friend Lillian. We’ve been going to a few Phillies games each year and this time around I was looking forward to watching a local Triple-A team – The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. Unfortunately, the weather was not on our sides ๐ We ended up having a wash out and are going to have to exchange our tickets for a different game. Two of the authors, understandably, did not end up coming, so I’m hoping to meet them in person at another event in the future. They’ve been wonderful and are going to ship out my pre-orders <3 With that said, I was able to meet three authors and the owner of The Gilded Prose, who organized this awesome event. One of the authors, K. Iwancio, also threw out an opening pitch prior to them pulling out the tarps to cover the field. Overall, it was still a fun few hours meeting awesome people, trying out new ballpark foods, and navigating the rain. I’m hoping they try this event again next year and that we have better weather luck! Enjoy some of the photos below ๐
The Authors
The Books // Pre-Orders

This is book 2 in the A Philly Silly Romance series. I’m currently reading (& own) book 1, so I pre-ordered book 2 for this event ๐

This is book 1 in the Los Angeles Evaders series. I read this ahead of the event and it was so good! Stay tuned for a review. I missed the pre-order deadline for this one so I’m hoping to pick up book 1 & 2 when it releases soon!

This is book 1 in the Extra Innings series. I also read this one before the event and really enjoyed it! I loved that both MCs were athletes! This had such great humor in it, too! I pre-ordered this one and am looking forward to reading book! Stay tuned for a review!

Murder at First Pitch is book 1 in the Ball Park Mysteries series. I have not read this one yet, but I did pre-order a copy from this event. I love a good mystery and am looking forward to reading this one!

Going Deep is part of the Winning Love series. I did not get a chance to pre-order this one, but I do currently have it in my e-book queue from Kindle Unlimited. Looking forward to reading this one as I haven’t read a football romance (or not that i can remember ha)! Book 3 (out later this year!) is a baseball romance!

The Boards Between Us is book 1 in the Golden City series. I pre-ordered this for the event and am looking forward to reading it! I’m a huge hockey fan and am embracing my Sports Romance Era – so I’m looking forward to reading another hockey romance! Book 3 in this series is a Baseball romance, too!
The Bookstore: The Gilded Prose
The Gilded Prose was the bookstore that put together this event. Definitely check out their website and support them! I was able to preorder a cute “In my Baseball Romance Era” t-shirt and my mom pre-ordered the “take me out to the boy garden” baseball hat. The owner, also Nicole, was very sweet! I enjoyed meeting her and being able to support this awesome bookstore. I also ended up making it into the store’s Instagram post about the night. Peek me with K!
Photos From the Event
I’m an introvert so meeting and mingling with people is not my thing, but I tried my best to chat with a few people and grab some photos. I had a really nice conversation with Nicole and LA. They were so sweet and I was excited to learn more about them and their books. I also grabbed a photo with K. This was my second time meeting her and I was happy she had the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at the game. I also luckily went with my mom (thanks for letting me drag you everywhere, mom!) and that helped me feel more comfortable. We were really looking forward to watching a baseball game and just chilling out, but obviously the rain had other plans for us. ๐ But as I mentioned above, I got to try out some fun baseball food like the Corn on the Cob and Chocolate Covered Bacon! I can’t wait to go back and try some other things like the pickle on the stick, the Hershey ice cream (2nd time in a row I didn’t get a chance to get any – so sad!), and the mac-n-cheese my coworker recommended. I also can’t wait to just see the Iron Pigs play – hah! It’s been like 10+ years since I’ve seen them play, so I’d love to see them in action again. Anyway enjoy the photos below!

I’m hoping to continue to chronicle my bookish events and experiences on the blog. I miss writing and this longer form of media. Sometimes Instagram and TikTok just get to be too much or too stressful and I’ve forgotten that my first love has always been blogging. So welcome to 2026 and I hope you enjoy all the posts I’m about to drop moving forward! ๐
